Anyone has this problem? Cups come up too high under the arms mess up the whole fit?

I think I had a breakthrough. I finally figured out why 32KK - Bravissimo » Erin Bra (LN441) just does not work on me or any similar construction by Bravissimo in the same size.
I recently fluctuated 1 cup size up so I currently fit the size- cups are filled, band is tight enough. But the bra is just torture to wear. Tried again today as it looked like a decent fit, after 3 hours I had to remove that torture device!

So what happened?
It took me a while to figure out why I had wrinkes on bottom, wire pain under my boobs, band riding up slightly and straps cut into my shoulders that gave me neck pain.
Each issue could be explained by something else. Wrinkles by shallow bottom, pain by hard wires, band rides up = it's too large, and the straps cutting in = my boobs are just too heavy?!

But I swear the band is not too large it's really snug so why would it ride up. It's another issue that causes all 4 issues above.
The cups are too tall! Now I have tall roots so I need taller cups to cover my breast tissue above. But these cups are also too tall under my arms. Therefore they cut in when I sit down and since they come up so high get pushed down while I sit. this causes then wire to slide down, cut into my flesh and bottom of cups become empty. since the cups slide down, there is more pressure on straps so they push down on my shouldrs and the front of bra pushed down causes the band to ride up slightly!

Do we have a name for this issue in the bra community? Did you also experience that?
I think in my case it is because I need cup depth of a K / KK cup but wires of a J cup. I need a taller cup on front for my breast tissue so I seek out taller bras but my breast base height does not get taller the more I size up so there isn't more space under my arms for those tall cups.

  • I definitely identify with this " Therefore they cut in when I sit down and since they come up so high get pushed down while I sit. this causes then wire to slide down, cut into my flesh and bottom of cups become empty." My bravissimo Allie and Gemma both do this. I dont really think about the sides of the bra but it gets uncomfortable in the IMF when I sit and feels like it slides down for sure..

  • I'm not a bra sizing expert, but the few YouTube videos I've watched on Comexim alterations, this one from Erica at A Sophisticated Pair, she talks about how the changes (necessary alterations) start at about cup size H in Comexim - I know that this is a different brand that what you are talking about - but it is (with comexim, at least) a scaling issue of their patterns to a larger cup size.
to add to the confusion, I'm not sure if Erica means a Comexim size H (Comexim uses their own unique cup sizing system, using 2 cm per cup) or UK cup size H. Link to video on Comexim alterations https://youtu.be/METoV07IF6A
But I think Ewa Michalak has the best scaling for larger cup sizes??
