Rules to dress a bigger bust vs your personal style

Recently I did some declutter of my wardrobe and also looked around for some new items to add. Quickly I got a bit frustrated because everything I see in my mind all these rules for busty women what you can and cannot wear went off like alarm bells. And then on top of that all general the rules for bigger girls like don't wear tight clothes, avoid this if your legs are thick, avoid that if you have a belly, beware of the back fat and so on...
and it was no fun anymore. Ofc it's a struggle as many clothes are indeed not made to fit for a curvy shape. Like non stretchy shift dress, button up shirts, empire waisted anything...but there are so many clothes anyone can wear, but some rules tell us not to.

Like:
Don't wear high necks and turtlenecks
Don't wear Oversize it adds 10 pounds
Don't wear bold print
Don't wear tops with ruffles or other big details
Don't wear long necklaces
Don't wear ...

Do you follow these rules ? Or just wear whatever you like? I own 1 turtleneck sweater and I don't think its bad, should I declutter it, because my boobs are a problem?

  • Are your boobs a problem? And a problem for who? For you? If so, by all means, chuck clothes that make you feel uncomfortable.
Problem for others? F them. Seriously. All of those "rules" are just for society to have control over women's bodies. Nobody with any sort of authority actually made them up, just some people who decided they don't like women with X body type wearing Y clothes.

You should wear whatever is comfortable for you and whatever you want to wear. If you like those rules, great! If you don't, great!

Please don't get rid of things you enjoy because some random set of rules told you it shouldn't be worn by you.

  • I wear what I like and what I think is flattering to me. Lots of these “rules” are based in fat phobia. Plenty of curvy and larger women look amazing in fitted clothes, but they’ve been told to hide their bodies since it doesn’t fit the “skinny ideal”, and that’s stupid.

Do you like the turtleneck? If you enjoy wearing it then keep it and screw the rules!! If it doesn’t make you happy and you don’t reach for it then let it go. It’s your body and you don’t have to dress it for anyone but you!
