Bra making adventures
So I tried to make my first bra. I decided to just make one from a pattern to help learn how they are constructed. I even made a size bigger than recommended and it is laughably too small in the cup, and too big in the band lol BUT I have some good ideas on where to go next. Supplies are coming out to roughly $15-$20 a bra so that’s nice!

That's awesome! I'm also trying to make my first bra, using the Watson pattern from Cloth Habit.
Apparently bra pattern sizes do not equal ready to wear/off the rack sizes, so it gets kind of complicated.
What pattern are you using? If I feel confident after the Watson, which is wireless, I might try an underwire pattern!
I’m using the Sapphire pattern from Pinup girls, which uses Beverly Johnson’s measure to technique. I measured at at 32 band 3.75 cup. On top of being at least one cup size too small, it was quite shallow, so I may add some depth to the cups as well. I did modify the original pattern to a narrower gore but I may have accidentally slightly decreased the cup size when I did that, so I need to double check what I did!
