PMS boobs

Currently I get quadboob in most of my bras. And it's bras I just bought 1-2 months ago. I have been a stable size 32J in most bras with the occasional 32JJ or 32HH thrown in. Since I am 1 week before my Period I assume it could be a bad case of PMS boobs. Or could it be tissue migration happening? (That I scooped some side fat into my cups that used to escape before? I also think that only happens when you start to wear the correct size and I got fitted in 2012!)
Do you also experience huge changes in PMS boobs? Do you need to size up for that time?
I also wonder if it was something I ate? A few weeks ago someone here had a discussion if the consumption of soy can lead to breast growth. I recently started to eat more protein since I read it can help to manage weight which for me as a vegan was also more tofu? Could that also cause it? Also if we already talk the topic of PMS, how do you deal with the food cravings? Is there any remedy?

  • Hi, fellow vegan! As far as I can tell, the whole 'soy causing breast growth' thing is a myth. I haven't seen any studies about it regarding AFAB people, but these two reports analyzing numerous studies of the effects of soy on AMAB people assert that the consumption of soy does not cause breast growth in (cis) men [https://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(09)00966-2/pdf https://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(10)00368-7/pdf].

Otherwise, I'm afraid I'm not too much help here. My boobs don't change size throughout the month and never have :P. I'm also on the younger side and have only been wearing properly fitting bras since like 2015ish, I think (at which time I was 16), so I can't really say much about breast migration either. Hope some other people can chime in!

  • I'm vegetarian, and I also have not seen any evidence of breast growth linked to soy. I wouldn't worry about that too much. I have had times when they grow and shrink somewhat surprisingly, but I feel like my weight can be a little like that too, haha. I don't fluctuate size during the course of the month, but I know a lot of people here do, hopefully they will jump in and give some advice. I think that I have seen a lot of them talk about having certain bras they like for certain times of the month, and really liking bras with some stretch lace that can accommodate a little bit of change.
