dyeing bra help

After searching and searching I have given up on finding a "nude" bra that will work for me. Even when some nudes look okay inside when I go outside it shows thru bad because they are too light. So I did some reading and for all my stupidity I never thought about dyeing a bra to match.

Have any of you ever dyed a bra? If I dye a white bra does the dye have to be a little darker than what you want for it to come out right? Any comments are welcome because I just simply have never done this before to clothing anyways. ;D

  • I actually just dyed my Deco and a VS BBV full coverage bras with espresso. I uses about 1 cup of grounds with boiled water and about 1 cup white distilled vinegar. Let the bras steep but after boiling the water, though it does need to be hot when you immerse them. Let it sit for 2 hours, drain, rinse with cold water, then I actually just threw them in the machine with a little soap and cold water. Make sure the bras are hooked and use a delicate cycle. I have a portable washer...I can wash wool sweaters without them shrinking/felting, that's how delicate it is. They still do smell like coffee a bit, but I don't mind. And caffeine is good for your skin anyhow =) I was going to get the Rit dye but it cannot be used on polyester.

  • Coffee?! My fave drink in all the world? Wow! Can you describe the colour it came out as? I'd rather go with this if possible. I have allergies to certain dyes so doing this would belay alot of my fears in this regard.
