Apr 29, 2013 measurement questions

I am a total bra lover like most of you. Except for I am a crossdresser and only a part time woman. Sometimes I get so jealous of you full time ladys.
I'm not lucky enough to have real breasts of my own. So I have silicone breastforms from Amoena that have to make do.
I hope all of are healthy and never have the need for breastforms. But anyway, I have size#8 forms that I love very much. I wear them in 40D and 38DD/E bras. Since I've discovered your bra database I've learned about measuring the cup depth. I've found I need a cup depth of around 10 inches. My question is , Do any of you search out certain cup depths in bras before you buy them? What other measurements in the database do you consider in deciding if a bra would fit you or not? Thanks for your help. :)

  • I check wire width too, though to be honest I haven't had a lot of luck finding bras just from measurements. Other bratabasers have been much more helpful.

I also like to look at pictures of the bra in my size to see who else it fits, and if their boobs look like mine. I have very tall, wide, and shallow breasts, and I can sometimes get an idea if a cup will have too much projection or not enough width for me.

  • I often look at things like wing height, along with wire width and depth. If wings are too high, the bra will stab me as I have high-set breasts and I'm fairly petite.

Unfortunately for me, I'm usually the first one to put in an entry on a bra in my size so I have to look at similar sizes and make a guess. The system in place now is reasonably good at extrapolating bra measurements as well, which can be handy.
