Mini Nordstrom Rack Haul

I consider myself lucky because there's no one but *two* Nordstrom Racks within twenty minutes driving distance from me. I decided to hit them up, because I noticed that they updated some sales items on http://shop.nordstrom.com/ and I figured "Why not?"

My secret of not making a whole morning or afternoon of it is I head straight for the bras, and once I'm there, I try to maintain that tunnel vision. As in: don't look at the seemingly endless variety available in 32Ds on up, because that will just make me sadfaced. Look at it as: at least I won't blow a wad of money all at once on bras because there's such a narrow range available to me. Don't look at the lovely Stella Mccartney bras --whoops, too late :'(

It turns out that both stores *had* added fresh pickings. And what did I find nestled amongst the meager 30FF/G options on an otherwise crammed clearance rack? Why, a Freya Deco Honey](model:5398) in Firecracker and an Ivy Longline Bra , both at the clearance price of $31.00. I tried on the Deco Honey in both 30G and 30FF, and ended up going with the 30FF. The Deco Honeys seemed firmer in the band than my regular nude and black Decos, which is a good thing. I tried on the Ivy in 30G, since that size seems to work well with the other Freya longlines I have. I know I probably shouldn't buy a bra I can hook on the first hooks, as is the case with the Ivy, but sometimes logic flies out the door when it comes to those longlines!

I also tried on a Marina Padded Half-cup in 30FF and a Chantelle Paris Paris Demi in... 32DDD (ha!), I think. I say "ha!" about the Paris Paris because I should know by now that I'm not going to fit a 32DDD anything unless the cups run huge or something. And sure enough, the second I leaned into the bra to put it on is when I noticed the wires weren't even going to go around my boobs. I didn't even bother to fasten it. But! I need another black lacy bra like I need another hole in the head, so. Sadly, the Marina was a no-go, too. In 30FF, the cups fashioned my boobs into an awesome quadboob formation. The tops of the cups, it's like they were trying to cleave my boobs in half. Such a shame, because I love the purple trim and the jewel-like colors! OH WELL. I also tried on a Taylor in charcoal but decided I was pushing it, band-wise, it being a 32F. WHAT DO I NEED ANOTHER TAYLOR FOR ANYWAY.

I ended up taking home the firecracker Deco Honey because apparently I really need a bright red bra in my life that will be just like the bright purple bra that's on my way from Figleaves.com OOPS. And the Ivy. I searched for matching underwear, and lucked out with a Deco thong in firecracker. I'm glad I decided to check out the stores, because the prices were marked down lower than on the sale section of Nordstrom's site. Plus, it said that the Ivy was unavailable in 30G online.

Soon to come, my reviews on said bras :)

  • I envy you for being able to try on bras in-store!!!

That said, if you ever feel like selling that Deco Honey... *points on head*

  • devilangel I'm really glad I can because I have such little patience tbh. I hardly ever order clothing online because of it. Like, ordering an EM bra is so painful because of the 14+ days of processing and shipping. But so worth it because my one lone EM bra is turning out to be one of my favorites! My life is so rough, obviously :'(

PS I have a plain ol' nude Deco in 32F that I will be listing eventually but that's not nearly as exciting as the Deco Honey, let's face it. :| It'll be cheap though, because I didn't pay much for it at least.
