In need of a strapless (or convertible) bustier for bridesmaid dress.

Now that I've discovered Parfait is probably not going to work for me (unless I lose a massive amount of weight and magically go down 2 cup sizes), can anyone suggest their favorite evening wear/fancy gown undergarments? It is a halter strap dress. Would I be better to go with a strapless and a shaping camisole? I think Bravissimo may have a bustier in a G+ cup size, but it had poor reviews on the site. My other option, since the dress fabric is quite thick and structured is to go naked, but the thought of going braless for 12+ hours makes me want to cry on the inside.

  • Sorry the Parfait didn't work. I wouldn't recommend going braless either. I wore a halter strap bridesmaid dress for my SIsters wedding. I was convinced reluctantly to go without as the dress had boning etc in it and that would work against the bra- conflicting- so i was told, and that the boning would hold me up(also had trouble finding a strapless- hadn't found online bra shopping)..Yeah- NOT! I didn't feel like I was supported at all. I would definitely recommend a strapless bra or halter convertable or basque(would not have worked for me as the dress straps were too thin).

  • I think it would be best to go with a strapless bra and a shaping camisole. I have a Fantasie smoothing strapless bra that is really supportive. How long do you have until the wedding? I've heard great things about Rago shapewear, but wouldn't know about sizing/fit.
