I've just recieved an Elomi Victoria and it has the most horrible smell. Like cat pee or something. I have no idea how something new can have this horrific smell and neither do I know why I did still put it on
I think it might have worked as an everyday bra if I could have stand the smell. I know I am sensitive and all that but this really was horrific
While I've learned that tall sides and long underwires are the only things that don't give me underarm rolls, it's almost as though my sternum is too deep for the taller sides.
Today as, my Braologies and Jasmine are having a Wash Day, I attempted to wear 1. Soma Sensuous Sides. 2. Ewa Michalak Toffik CH. 3. ...Currently wearing Parfait Charlotte Balconette.
I am certain my shape has changed over the months; there's no doubt about it. The gore on the Sensuous Sides would NOT touch my sternum and the more I shifted the more double-boobed I became.
The Toffik seems to have too much room at the top of the cups unless 'm standing up straight (when it cuts into the tops of my breasts!), but the fit isn't awful enough to stop me from wearing this bra. Actually, I thought looked great, for a few hours. Then I began to notice that the cups of the bra kept shifting to the left. (Left boob is bigger). The straps were in their usual too-wide-set place, the band seemed snug, but the cups, and my whole shirt kept getting noticeably crooked. When I had the chance, I changed my bra...again.
I think the problem with the Toffik begins the the center gore being both too low for my deep sternum, and possibly too narrow to make a bridge over the deepest part of my sternum. As the wires attempt to go down into my sternum, the cups slide below my inframammary folds, and instead of lifting breast tissue, the heavier breast pulls the whole front of the bra toward my left side.
Does that make sense?
Now I'm wearing my Parfait Charlotte Balconette, which, frankly, looks better without any clothing over it I am really disappointed with the shape this gives me. The center gore simply WON'T stay off my breast tissue. The tops of the cups are really digging into the tops of my breasts, and if the center gore were to go all the way down into my sternum, the sides of the cups cause armpit rolls. If I try to lift the bra higher the front wires crush the breast tissue next to my sternum.
I feel like my inframammary fold is too low for my breasts, and my sternum is too deep in the center for the wideness between my breasts...Is this what is meant by "non-traditional crease" (HerRoom term)?
Wow! sorry to hear you're having such a crummy bra day. I took a look at the pics attached and boy does that bra look uncomfortable. I can't imagine having to wear that all day.
When you choose a bra whom do you dress in it for? What bras does it make you choose? Has your view of what a bra should do for you changed?
We all know people don't buy stuff to own stuff, but buy stuff to make an impression on other people; so who do you want to impress or look good to? So who are those people that silently made you make the bra choice you make.
I buy them for me. I feel good when I wear nice sets that fit me well.
I pretty much do buy them for me - the primary goal is comfort, and then I pick colours I like, with an eye to things that will still be camouflaged under my work uniform. In that regard, you could argue that my boss comes into consideration (but don't say that to his missus, or you'll get us both in trouble!)
Quite often, my partner disagrees with my choices (I tend heavily to girly/retro, he likes black lace). So I don't buy for him, but there are pieces where our tastes overlap, and when I feel like dressing for him, I choose those pieces (PL Ametyst springs to mind). But his interest in my underthings runs more towards funding my love for beautiful corsetry than what bras I buy.
Today I took the Cleo Melissa (6991) for her first outing. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and once again I marveled at how NEAT it is that my breasts are front and center, and lifted! My husband even noticed! "Honey, is that one of your new bras? It looks REALLY good!"
Yesssss a winner! ...Though I am going to give her a go in one cup size down. I'm not sure it matters a whole lot but I want to at least try.
I was a little self conscious when we walked into air-conditioning and the "headlights" turned on. I have never had that be visible before. But there are many worse things. Like, say, being so distracted by the lift of the new bras that I crash into stuff in the market...
ETA: I took a shower and came down in my pajamas. My husband took one look at me and said, "Old bra." I wear the old ones to bed now. I guess it really IS noticable! Read more 123 more words
So I've been trying to find a good wire-free bra to wear while I go through the last half of my pregnancy. I'm not really excited about buying a nursing bra yet because I figure I'll grow when that happens, but my current wired bras are KILLING me!! I'm already uncomfortable enough, I don't want to suffer through my bras ...too.
Does anyone happen to have a fave wire-free that doesn't look utilitarian and/or strap the boobs down like a sports bra? I was kind of looking at the wire-free Freya Deco, but am open to any and all suggestions.
Oh, I should probably add my shape has changed a bit from wearing proper bras. I'm much deeper than I used to be, full on top, and along with the depth came a narrower root. I still need a super low gore and need to avoid full-coverage--the weird ribcage and petite parts of me didn't change! LOL!
I had a couple old Parfait Jeanie's laying around in 30E (I wear a 30G in this bra currently) and I pulled the wires out and it's pretty comfy, gives a decent shape, but I wish they were a cup size or two bigger. (there's a big of quadboob)
So if you've got any moulded cup full-banded bras laying around that are slightly too small for you, you can probably just pull the wires out and use those.
The Freya maternity bras and Royce maternity bras are a LOT of bra for my frame (I'm 5' tall with most of my height in my legs) and are not that comfortable for me.
I have a question that I hope can be answered. I've been looking for 32s as suggested and the few that I have found seem to cut into the top of the breast. Are the wires being stretched and causing the cup to distort, essentially taking the curve out of the top of the cup? How do you deal with finding a proper band without distorting the cups?
I've just been to TWO bravissimos on my recent trip to Scotland! (hence my inactivity) and tried to get my hands on Jasmine, since I've heard it recommended so much, but no luck, all sold out
But, to determine my size, they recommended I tried their Dotty Spot: It fit me in 32JJ, so I bought ...it. I also bought Andorra in 34J, even though slightly too small, but with the stretchy lace, it's not much of a problem.
Now, after coming home, I've discovered I hate the shape the Dotty Spot gives me... (And my super efficient roommate who helped me unpack has snipped off the tags ) And I'm really surprised to hear that it should be similar to Jasmine? Have I missed something? I thought Andorra and Jasmine were extremely alike. The Dotty Spot shape is SO different from Andorra (Andorra is not too projected on me, but very nice and round - Dotty spot was difficult for me to fill at the apex because it's so projected-ly pointy!) I think you read my comment on Branarchists latest Jasmine adventure? I did not mean to spread the information that the Jasmine is like the Dotty Spot! The red floral Bravissimo exclusive Jasmine did gave a pointy shape on Branarchist compared to the pink Jasmine that gave her a round shape. So I was saying that "they might confused Jasmine pattern with Dotty Spot pattern since I never saw Jasmine looking that pointy on anyone :D " It was only joking. On me the red Jasmine in a 32K gives a round shape.
There are differences in the cut, so that might make each colorway fit a bit differently.
Oops irony on the internet can easily get lost in translation :D I'd say old Jasmine is more pointy and new is less pointy. I think new Jasmine should fit you well :) Better than Andorra.
Jasmine has room in the middle while Andorra hasn't. I love my Jasmine :) The new cut is the pink champagne :)
My sister got married yesterday, which was definitely a situation for rejoicing and a great deal of fun, except for the normal quandry as someone who is very full busted of 'what on earth can I wear?' Very simply, it's incredibly difficult to find clothing which is cut for a 14-15" difference between your underbust and your bust, even when ...considering full bust options.
Thankfully, I had a dress in my cupboard which I wore to a wedding last year. I tried it on a few weeks out from the event, and everything seemed to be fine. I was contained, I wasn't flattened, the seams weren't in a disastrous position. This was good enough for me. Lo and behold though, I put the dress on yesterday, and suddenly I have dress quadboob! It was cutting in on top of my breasts, especially my left breast (which I thought was the smaller one but may be the bigger one now, who knows?). A normal cover-up solution would be to put on a little jacket of some description, but I didn't have anything that was really dressy enough for a wedding. I didn't think that a cardigan would really cut it. Thankfully, my long hair came to the rescue. By artistically draping it over the top of my breasts, you couldn't tell the dress was cutting in. Still, I did end up spending most of the afternoon/evening fussing with my hair.
I wore my 65L - Ewa Michalak ยป Pl Toffik (151), and when I was fussing with my zipper on the dress, I felt/heard something go pop. I did check the back of the bra, and all 3 hooks seemed to be fastened, so I figured it was just my imagination. As the day went on, I felt more cutting in than usual, so I was glad to get home and take off my bra. It turns out that somehow I managed to distort the bottom hook, and the whole weight of my breasts was being held up by the tiny strip of elastic on the bottom. I think I plain don't have enough taper in my back to wear EM bras. Despite the great cup shape, I think we may be fundamentally incompatible. I certainly don't plan to wear that bra again if I can possibly help it. Fun fact- you really don't want to have 4+ kg of breast mass held in place by one tiny strip of elastic. I have some form of indentation/carpet burn type thing under my breasts even nearly 24 hours later.
The great hero of the day was my hair. Thanks hair. I really owe you one. Read more 382 more words
What do you mean by "taper" in your back? If you mean the band is not strong enough all over, maybe you can sew a piece of fabric over the length and width of the band that is elastic too. A seamstress did that with a bra I let her take in, and it was much more comfortable and supportive than if it had had only the two pieces of elastic on the top an the bottom of the band.
Myrabella - what happens when I wear the bra is that the base of the band is snug, but I actually have little gaps up the top at the sides of the bra. I thought it was a strap placement issue initially, but then I moved the straps and I still have a baggy top section. You can stick your fingers in the gaps between the bra and my torso without touching skin.
I theorise that it must be more common amongst Polish/Eastern European women to have a back which is more 'v' shaped than my own. My back is almost straight up and down until you hit my hips.
Suppose it's bra shopping time again... even my Cleo Zia is too big now!! I'm not bothered with it's cups wrinkling a bit, but because I don't fill the cups, the gore started poking.
*cries a little*
Ok question: how does Curvy Kate fit? The cup depths seem huge? I'm shallow and full on bottom, the 28E measure 23cm cup depth but my boobies only 21cm... I used to wear a 28F in Panache, seems odd that I'd need a 28DD in CK now?
Well, about 4 days ago I got my Panache Andorra bra in the mail, the one that had been recommended to me by several people and I had high hopes for. There are some things I like about it,but I think it's mostly a fail.It does seem like the wrong size and I'm not sure if a different size would help..I got a ...36HH and think a 36J,38J or 38HH would have been better. I do like lace bras, but I don't really like the shape they give me.Also,I didn't notice how tall that gore is!Omg...so painful, especially when I try to bend over.I tried bending the wires, moving it up,or down,it didn't help much.I did realize they have a plunge version which may work for me. I did wear the bra sometimes while camping cause the other one I brought, the band was way too loose. The Andorra does work well when jumping up and down and running, funnily enough,I guess cause it doesn't move much. XD I'll probably give it a few more tries, but I think I shall sell it. I should have just bought the EM bra I want from a user here instead. *sigh* That is next on the list. As well as Marks and Spencers memory foam bras..I seem to really like memory foam bras. Rather discouraging as money is pretty tight, though I do have a few watchers on some of my bras on ebay. Where did you order it from? A store that sends out a (presumably returned) bra like that sounds a little scary.
You're sure your dragons... I mean cats didn't get into the mail before you?
That's just gross though. I hear that white vinegar can be good for removing bad smells from clothing.
