Taking the cue from a recent blog post, I've been thinking about strapless bras and swimwear lately (separately, not strapless swimwear).
I really want a strapless bra that works under clothes, but there seem to be very few in my size, and if they are, the centre is so high it seems like it would be useless under anything but a ... t-shirt - which would then make the strapless bra unnecessary. Not to mention I don't find high centres very comfortable. I don't necessarily want a plunge, but just a normal height. And I'd want this bra to be comfortable and to stay up enough I don't worry about it. And preferably in a skin-tone ish colour. I guess all that is too much to ask, though.
I also want swimwear that fits and is comfortable, too. And one that doesn't look like I just took off my clothes and stripped down to my bra to go swimming. I want it to look like a swimsuit, and provide some support. And look cute. But I also don't want it to have normal bra straps, since every single bra in my size seems to come with these super wide straps that hardly stay on my shoulders. I think that would be ten times as annoying in a swim suit. But I gave up on halter tops because the weight on my neck from my breasts was so heavy and uncomfortable. Is this better in a bra-sized swimwear? I think ideally the straps would be crossed in the back, or racerback. I have this one cute bikini top from Target in which the straps do this cute criss-cross in the back. Of course because it's a regular swim top it provides zero support so I don't actually wear it. But I'd love one like that that actually covers my boobs and gives support and all that.

Anyone who has tried bras available from Next? You can view them at www.next.co.uk
They don't have the most impressive range but I was pleased to see they had DD+ bras. Their bands start from 32 (their own brand, they have some 30 Wonderbras) and they go up to a UK FF. They seem to call the FF G ... though. Feel free to correct an wrong info because I'm on my cell with slow network on my way home so I can't bother checking if everything is correct, I'm using my memory
Anyway, I've ordered a bra from them and they use UPS as delivery service, and I just saw that it has been signed and delivered now (UPS requires a signature and my mother's partner works from home at times so he signed for it). I'm so excited to try it out! Here's a link to it, not the prettiest bra but I'm looking forward to see if it works as a strapless minimising bandeau as it says!
http://www.next.co.uk/x536286s1#782149x53
I ordered it in a sister size of mine (usually a 28G), 32F. Since the band is supposedly wide according to the reviews, I felt that it would support well despite being bigger, and a reviewer also stated that she thinks you should go up a band size from your normal size so it might fit like a 30FF! I'll have to see for myself but I'm very excited to try something someone else hasn't! In about half an hour I'll rip my top off to throw it on xD

Okay, so I've tried it now :) I'm going to return it, but the bra itself is actually quite good. What's not great is that the underwires are quite springy, but the side boning helps to counteract that a lot actually.
The great thing about this bra is that the band has a really clever design. Why didn't they show it on the webpage? Quite foolish if you ask me. It's a wide band and each band has a 5 cm elastic attached to it, both from the top and bottom of the band so there's two wide elastics sewn onto the band on each side. I'm gonna do a review of this bra shortly and put up pictures of it so you can see what I'm talking about. It feels really sturdy at the same time that it feels soft against the skin, no uneven band tension. +1000 on that!
The band was indeed too big for me, and I'm not sure if the commenter who said the bra runs one size small was right. I think it's either spot on or like half a size too small (31 instead of 32). Why I'm not sure is because the wide elastics might make the bra sturdier, and that might feel to some like the bra is tighter, but it's not, it's just hugging you more firmly than a bra with a band that's not as sturdy.
I had to hook it on the tightest hook to use it as a strapless bra. Sure enough, it didn't slip and it did feel very comfortable. I had adequate support and I'm really picky on that in general. A bra that fits horribly wrong gives me breast-aches and I did not feel uncomfortable wearing the bra.
The underwires are very, very wide for this size. I measured them and they measure 16,7 cm. That is really wide for 32F. Usually it's like maximum 15, ranging from 13 to 15 cm. That's what I've seen here on Bratabase at least and there's a bunch of bras in 32F here. I have yet to measure the rest but I will. Look at my future review if you want to read more about it and see it.
Oh, btw, it won't be one of those sad returns where nothing you bought fits you and you're just bummed. I bought a pair of petite jeans leggins and they couldn't fit more perfectly!

Hi guys! I have a size 6 Foxy (size 6 UK/size 2 US, for medium-big busts, i take a 28G for example) and I need to sell it! I am accepting $60 for it (which is less expensive than it is being sold for on the website). http://madeinpreston.com/black-sequin-party-dress
Is anyone interested? It's a great dress, but doesn't fit perfectly for me.

Doesn't their calculator suggest 6Fab for 28G and size 6? How come you bought it in a smaller bust level? Also, was that the only issue you had with it? Too small boob space? I'm curious because I'm 5 feet tall and quite curvy for my size so even though full bust brands are like heaven for most Bratabasers, it could be a disastrous fit for me. How tall are you and how did you find the proportions to be? Good for tall people or short people? Or best for average height, what would you say?
prettyNpetite
The Foxy/Fab thing was right at the cusp for me so I went with Foxy. However I still had room in the bust to move around, it didn't run small there. I didn't really have any issues with it, I just have too many dresses!
I'm 5'5" and it would be cute on a shorter girl, but it will be more of a cocktail/party dress and less of a vegas clubbing dress. I also noticed a little room around the hips so if you're curvy in the hips that could work too. If anything I felt like it ran a tiny bit big on me.
One of the last things I did last year was to work on how the page for each of your bras look. There was a big number of improvements so you can use the link of your bras as a gallery for your photos as well as to share your bra's measurements, review anywhere.
Also, there's this little known feature that ... we've had for a while already, when writing reviews, adventures, or comments you can mention your bras using @ just like for users and brands. If you start typing @ and then a bra size for a bra you own you will see a list of your bras being suggested, 36GG - Panache » Confetti Underwire (4071) which will link to your particular bra. I know some of you know about this and seen it used, but it seems to be not common knowledge yet

Thank you Jj :) Do you do this in the review or idk? I
never knew about this.
You can mention your bras on any field you can mention things, do @ and then type the size of any bra of yours, you should see the suggestions.
Same size as my pink one but cant fasten it no way! Theres no give at all in the band under the pattern only the mesh? Extender on the way but bitterly dissapointed.
My new blue dottyspot = fail too, straps too wide boohoo

What size is that? You got measurements for it? It will be interesting to see how both compare.
I utterly hate when companies do this.
32jj they are the same but just no stretchiness whatsoever

code is: perfectdcup (valid until end of Jan 19th)
I haven't tried @Comexim but am thinking about ordering one bra to test out the size before placing a bigger, custom order directly from Comexim.
No more problems with a bra too small to fit and lift the bigger girls ;) Get a spectacular cleavage in our bras made up to N cup!

how accurate is wellfittings size calculator? is suggested a 70G for me when I normally wear a uk 28G, I'm not familiar with the way comexium's sizes work but that doesn't seem right to me.
Their calculator gave me 85C! Holy cow. I'm like 75G or GG, at least in Fantasie. 70G or H in Freya. C? Really?

My NWT ck Tease me knickers have a run in them! I've yet to use them and would like to have more than one wear in them!
I can't send them back. I'm not sure if they got the run before they were sent or once I got them.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to keep this from getting worse? Or how to fix it?
Thanks!

Oh. I just gonna comment to say that mine have a similar run, which is now a small hole, so I hope someone knows a fix :D
Clea nail polish? Just a dab at either end. Might have to reapply after laundering but it might hold for a few washes.
And I'd still contact the store and/or mfg and let them know, especially since two of you are reporting the same problem.

I finally figured out what exactly it is why all the Panache bras with stretchy lace fail on me! I tried them all. Andorra, Jasmine, Envy. (Almost all, I never tried the Clara because I am sized out)
But they stopped working when I grew out of my 30J Andorra about a year ago and never worked again since! I tried ... several sizes of the Jasmine, but the bigger my boobs got the worse the bras were on me.
Here comes the Panache Envy Balconnet Bra (7285) :
It's not that bad! It's a tad more supportive than the Jasmine and I like the fabric better.
There are 2 things that make these kind of bras fail:
- Not enough lift from the center (it's not even the gore to blame, I don't think a taller gore would be much better...) it's just that all my boob volume gets distributed towards the center and there is nothing that really lifts there, so I kinda feel like my boobs will fall out of the bra at any time.
- Stretchy lace. Oh the issues I have with bras that are not roomy enough for my full-on-top boobs. Stretchy lace could be the solution for all the quadboob issues. But it's also a problem! It just doesn't give enough stability.
Now, I have 2 more issues with the Envy: I find the band quite big, I need to wear it on tightest setting and still can fill a whole hand under it! It's weird to think that I need a tighter band? Or does it just feel too big because the bra isn't that supportive?
And I dislike the projected shape. It's the side-support causing this, bringing boobs towards the center but since my boobs are already quite center heavy it gives me too much projection there. I like a more round less projected shape and a more close-to-chest fit.
Am I too picky? I really don't know... I mean this bra is an okay fit. It's wearable. It doesn't hurt me so far. But it feels weak.
I have an idea to “fix it”, but it's kinda risky. I think a second set of straps would help but I kinda fear to sew them on top the stretchy lace because I don't know if the lace part is strong enough for the tension :/
Oh I think I will have to stick to the Ariza, even if it hurts me sometimes:/

I think sewing another set of straps on is a bad idea =/ Like you said, it might be too much tension and I really think it would be at your size, heck, I even think it would be in my size which is considerably smaller! (28G)
I wish I had a clever idea to share with you...
To get more lift, I'd say you'd be better off fixing your straps so they cross over. I need to sit down and actually try this out on a bra of mine, but I'm planning to use extenders as multi-way fastenings (because the usual method of loops is utterly useless once you pass a certain size). My intention is to put one hook and eye on the straps at the front of the bra, and leave the back part 'normal', owing to my inability to actually fasten things on my back, and also to leave the straps with some adjustment.
The stretch lace won't hold anything, so definitely don't try sewing anything on that! I wanted to move the straps in more on my Jasmine, but I figured that it wasn't going to happen. That lace isn't sturdy enough.
Looking at the measurements of yours, the cups look so wide! I don't know if I can get a good fit in this or not.

My sister is getting married in July and I need help finding something to wear! I'm about a 34JJ, my waist measures 37", my hips are between 46" and 47" and I'm just under 5'5". It will be Christmas in July themed, so a festive shade of red or green might be ideal. I also need some nice double wide shoes to wear in about a size 7WW (North American) or so. Undergarments are also a slightly panic inducing issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by double wide shoes? I know there's D fit (standard), E fit (wide fit) and EE fit (extra wide). I even think there's even wider than that. Also, where are you located? If you live in Europe there's a few UK websites that sell wide fit shoes that I'm aware of:
www.newlook.com
www.clarks.co.uk
I'm certain I've seen more websites with it but I can't remember right now, sorry =/
Made In Preston sells bust-friendly clothes where you can choose between 3 different bust volumes and you combine that with your high street size, the size you'd need for your waist and hips. Do you want a long or short dress? Because I've seen a green bodycon dress on MIP's website! :)
As far as shoes go, all I know is that even the "wide" shoes from Walmart and Payless leave my feet feeling bruised. I'm in Canada and you've made it sound like Europe is some kind of wide shoe heaven! I'm not too picky about dress length. I'll definitely check out Made in Preston.

What size do you usually need? It'd be easier to recommend you something if we knew :)
