I decided to bite the bullet and create my own bra blog. I am in the process of getting it set up, as I've never had a blog before. I went with the title "The Lingerie Architect" since I'm an architectural engineering student. While I don't have any bra-related posts yet, I hope to get one up soon (even though I've ridiculously busy with school). Any tips or suggestions would be really helpful!!

Good luck on the blog!
So one problem lately that I didn't have about 5 months ago is that is the underwires of most bras I try are uncomfortable on my ribcage, especially when I sit down. It's almost like it's too low...and will often be this way even if I pull it up...I've noticed I have this problem with shallower cups only. With the Ewa CH,I don't ... have this problem and it's still my most comfortable bra to date despite the straps that aren't so great. It seems like Ewa really is my brand, which I am half happy and half not happy about.Only unhappy cause it's so expensive and they rarely pop up in my size.Happy cause I do love the colors and prints they use.Was thinking maybe the S style would really work well for me since it says it's especially designed for for a similar problem.
I'm going to be working on losing a little weight through exercise to get back to where I was (I hate winter and cold),and that should help a lot.But what seems to have also happened is my ribcage got larger and sticks out more?Like...not just that it has a bit more padding now,but it changed size or shape? Not sure if it could just be cause of the weight,or if it's changed for good.

If it only happens with shallow styles, the bra probably is sitting too low. Often with FOB or firm boobs, one may not even be able to pull the wires up where they need to be, much less keep them there. Also, discomfort can be exacerbated by a rib cage that widens below band level.
I've noticed changes in my underbust related to my posture. So when I'm sick it gets bigger and when my boobs are well supported it gets smaller.

My very tired brain rebranded Parfait & Affinitas as Parfinitas. I'm not even mad. As a fan of brevity, I may just start using that regularly.

I like it. You started a new name. :)
I Think they should change their name to that! lol :D

Jj has brought the attention to me that Cleo has changed their labelling. I didn't realise this at first but after inspecting my latest season Cleo bra, yes, they have changed the sizing label. Good job, Cleo. /s
So now, instead of having say, 28G/28G/60G/75G/6G, we will now have 28G/28D6/I/60J/75G/6G.

I cannot believe this. I am making a scandal here in my desk. What crazy shit is that? And their US sizes? 4D/G 5D/H.

I have not seen anything about Panache yet, but I wonder what will happen with them.
Last season Parfait By Affinitas and Curvy Kate started to use the same cup for all sizes, and now reliable Panache comes up with this bullshit.

Is there an easier way to do full bust alteration? And where do I get that pattern from? It looks complicated by the way.
Filed under Bras ups and downs
It's not complicated, but it does require a little practice to get a feel how and where all the parts will move. There are plenty of really good tutorials on the internet, there's at least one Craftsy class on the topic, and there are several books that might be of interest. I can help too, if you wish.
What kind of pattern are you thinking of? A full bust alteration/adjustment (FBA) can be done on ANY pattern, regardless on the style, although some styles are slightly easier to adjust than others.
Just a simple one? I really don't know.
I'm updating my pics on my Chantelle. I've gone through some boob growth and this bra is just not working for me. There is something that I noticed about it though; The inner lining of the cups is a non stretchy fabric and causes the bra to be too shallow. The outer lining is very stretchy. So, should I take the risk of cutting the inner ling out and hope it gives more room, or should I keep it as is and wait and see if I could find it in a better size?

The inner fabric is non-stretchy because that it what makes it supportive. If you cut it out, the stretchy cup will not be supportive. Chantelle in general tends to be very shallow. In your place, I would sell the bra that doesn't fit and look for one that does.
I'm interested in making my own bras or at least learning how to properly alter my bras. What are some good tutorials on the web?

If you want to make your own bra I highly recommend looking at the Clothhabit sew-a-long... http://clothhabit.com/category/bra-sew-along/ She posted some great resources regarding patterns, supplies, and tips on pattern manipulation.
In terms of sewing your own bra I recommend starting with a good pattern like the Classic Pin-Up from BraMakersSupply.
This is a Finnish site where you can buy all supplies for making a bra, fabrics, patterns, etc. Supplies/fabrics donĀ“t come in many colours though, there are only black/white (was there also nude..?) but you can always cover the cups with any other fabric you like!
There is also a video tutorial for bra-making :)
I wore a ton of teeny Candie's bras from Kohls. They're cute and I'd love to wear them in my size, but they don't even make a 34D. I wore 34Cs and either dealt with the bad fit or lucked out and got a design that worked well enough for me, even if the size was all ... wrong. My first holy grail bra was a $6 surprise from my mother in a style that was discontinued. I still break it out and wear it because it's comfortable and works fine as a lazy day tshirt bra.
When that first bra started getting worn out, I went on a massive shopping spree to find a new bra that fit. I was willing to spend the big bucks to do it, too. Budgeted thirty whole dollars for it. I spent three hours in the store trying on bras and ended the day in tears with one "good enough." It was exactly that. A 34C that would have fit better in a 34D, but was close enough that it worked alright, and it was my go-to bra up until I went to get fitted at Necessities by Sherrie in Snellville, Ga.

NSFW! I'm certain some of you had seen this before, since it's 3 years old but I somehow stumbled across it today. I found it interesting! I wish I could have seen it as a teen. I have "70s boobs" and had only really seen "80s and 90s" boobs growing up. I didn't even know 60s boobs existed but I ... think they're cool. Never thought Playboy would make me feel good about myself.
By the way they've since taken it down and replaced it with a less informative article so I found it in the Wayback Machine and it can take a bit to load.

I really like seeing different shapes of women's bodies. But I really hate the presentation; it's another way of creating an artificial norm. This is not about the evolution of breasts, it's about the evolution of Hugh Hefner's tastes. For example, the blurb on "60s breasts" makes it sound like women's breasts in general changed, when what actually changed was what Hugh Hefner wanted to see in the magazine. (He makes all the final decisions about models.)
I am sorry that you see it that way. There was a similar sentiment on the (feminist) site I found it on:
http://jezebel.com/5561224/when-your-breast-shape-goes-out-of-style
But someone in the comments (I found the comments pretty interesting) said they thought that it was presented in a different way and I must agree. It's easy to get up in arms about anything coming from Playboy, but for me I didn't feel that the author was being sexist or creating anymore of a standard than what already exists.
While the article may not have been clear to distinguish that breasts didn't actually change that way every decade, I felt like that was the joke. It felt like it was supposed to be satire, to imply that women's breasts actually changed in response to social changes in America.
Plus it didn't pick on any of the women's shapes and rather seem to celebrate that there are all different types, so I saw it as a positive article (even if the facts behind why what we saw changed are less pleasant).

Btw, it may be worth mentioning for those not familiar with it, that Harlequin is the old name for now Masquerade bras.
