Bra fitting help » Should I size down one cup size?
Ewa Michalak » S Kamea (600) » 60GG 28:10
I'm trying to decide whether to go down a cup size to 60G. It just looks and feels so full coverage to most other S fits I've seen. When I exhale, the cups do gape a bit. Also, the wings come up into my armpits (but that's EM for you). The display picture is without pads. In several of these pictures, you can see in the notes where I've placed both asymmetry pads in one cup and not in the other for comparison, and those are in the cup with the larger boob, to try to get an idea for what the next cup size down would be like. I'm not sure what those pads equate to in cup size differences, though. My fear in sizing down is that the edge of the cup would cut into my breast tissue, because my breast tissue tends to spill to the center most when I'm in a bra. Thanks for your thoughts!

helpfulHonestly the depth is not the problem here--when you put in 2 pads, you start spilling into the center. You need to look for a cup shape that is not as tall on the outside (where you don't need it) but that still contains your center fullness. V shape plunges aren't your friend when you have short projected boobs that are high on your body!

helpfulAgree with wendybien . I feel if you otherwise like the depth and wires, maybe a Comexim with reduced cups could be an option for you? I own a S bra and an Anna Pardal (based on Comexim) in the same size and find the AP bra a slightly better fit - it's lower in the armpits, so trying this option could alleviate that issue too. I myself have really tall boobs and haven't needed to consider trying reduced cups, but I've heard good things from those who have.

helpfulI had a similar situation with the 60FF - Kris Line » Valentina Brassiere that seemed just a tiny bit roomy in the cups, but really bothered me by the armpits and at the same time almost spilling in the middle. First I just wanted to stay away from the style, but finally I found the same in 60F on sale , which is lower on the sides, while the cups fit better. Can't say its ideal, but works. I have no experience with EM though and can't say what the size difference would be. These plunges are not my friends either, but just can't resist.
It is tricky, actually I think that a size down might work if you feel the cups to be too roomy and the wires wider than needed. But if you want to play it safe and have not fallen in love with this style you might want to go for reduced cups with Comexim or AP as KeighleyKnight suggested.Updated on September 2, 2015 Flag this

helpfulSorry I can't offer more suggestions, but I am posting here to say thanks for posting this fit check. That's the exact bra I was looking at getting in 65GG and the exact problem I was worried about. I have short projected boobs that are high on my body; wendybien hit the nail on the head about V-shape plunges. You say high armpits are normal for EM. I didn't know that, so thanks for that info, too. Now I'm glad I didn't order it even though it's so pretty. I know Comexim does reduced cups, but I find EM's aesthetic nicer. So what styles in either brand would be the padded equivalent for depth and wire width only without the plunge? Does anyone know? I think the answer would help us both. Apparently EM's half cups have wider wire and shallower cups. I've heard Comexim's plunges aren't so "plungey", but will the wings go up into the armpit, too? Sorry to add questions to your post but I hope it helps.
