Original problem
This is probably currently my best fitting bra (even though it doesn't). And I have the problem I always do of my right nipple constantly trying to escape the top of the cup which is super annoying. I have the strap like that in the back because this is usually my tanktop bra and how i wear it 90% of the time. I don't know anything about my breast shape (not really sure how to tell...) so maybe that's an issue? Also the part where the strap meets the cup is always digging into the crease of my armpit (the wire is fine, doesn't poke me, it's mostly just under where the side bows are). I'm new to all this and I'm stuck over here.

So a nipple escaping might also indicate that you are full-on-bottom, I think, because your breast comes up high in the cup. You look to also have tall roots. So your breasts go up pretty high but almost all the tissue is below your nipple, they just taper off really slowly above that.
I WOULD recommend a half cup - its a shame the one you tried didnt work. Hopefully we'll find some other women with similar shapes - I know I've seen some, I just am not anywhere near your size range so I'm not familiar w bras in that range

This bra, like a lot of Betsey Johnson bras, is for people who have far-apart spacing. If you have close-together spacing I'd recommend not using Betsey Johnson, b.tempt'd, etc.
You might like to try Freya, Cleo, maybe Curvy Kate. Those brands may have some styles that have closer spacing so that the gore doesn't sit on your tissue.
If you have really close together spacing, try looking at EM and Comexim. Some styles in some size ranges have a gore that is so narrow the underwires overlap.
