cups too wide, looking for narrower width
Original problem
Based on recommendations about other ill-fitting bras, I was really excited that this bra seemed to fit perfectly. And then I wore it for longer..... While the cup size and shape was still fine, the underwire on the sides was poking into my side tissue uncomfortably (more so on the left than right). I was also noticing the band along the side rounding to the back was uncomfortable. When I took the bra off, you could see red marks from the wire and the band on the side (worse on the right than left).

helpfulI think this is a shape mismatch. It looks like the gore is not tacking in some of your photos. I'd say the cups aren't deep enough, especially at the center gore so your breasts push them away causing them to gap at the top and the wires to dig in at the bottom.

Are the wires poking your underarm, or sitting on top of breast tissue and hurting because of that? It looks to me more like poking underarm - which means its too wide. If you feel the wires are sitting on top of breast tissue at the side, that means its too narrow, but thats not what it looks like

so thats most likely either that the wires are too tall or that the wires are too wide. I havent worn any freya bras so I dont really know about them, You also dont give the stretched band measurement - if the wires are soft adn the band is a little tight, it can stretch the wires further in to your arm pit. i also have one bra that pokes me only on my smaller side, like hte boob isnt giving enough counter-pressure to keep it in the wire.
not sure if thats helpful tho, if I dont know what else might help in your size range. I keep thinking of ewa michalak's half cups. none seem to be for sale here tho, easier to test fit on a used one, because shipping from

helpfulCan you double check the cup width? Over 7" is already INSANELY wide for this cup volume so 8+ seems impossible! I suspect it is too wide, but it remains to be seen wherher something narrower would also need a shorter wire--the wire will end in a different place, if that makes sense.

I remeasured the cup width wendybien and you're right- it is much narrower than my initial measurement

hmmm- the wires weren't digging in at the bottom, just at the sides.
