Quest to alter EMs to Make Them Work, part 2

As you might have read in a previous bra Adventure (here: http://www.bratabase.com/profile/4he/adventures/860/), I am currently on a Quest to alter my EM PLs to make them fit better. The test subjects: PL Black in 70LL and PL Stalowka in 70M.
The main issue: lack of lift in the center.

I do absolutely adore the lift I get in the PLs. Here's a picture of me clothed in the PL Black 70LL: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/549316_557371747620128_236495176_n.jpg
Now compare that to the (lack of) lift in the Elomi Caitlyn 34JJ (pinched gore, tightened band): https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/522614_557371750953461_1107780560_n.jpg (yes that's the gore poking out, I can't seem to get it to bend enough to disappear)

Because I love them so much, I really want them to work, hence the Quest to Alter my PLs to Make Them Work!!
I tried moving the straps in the front, but that didn't work out. See the previous adventure for specifics and the discussion for the how&why it didn't work.

So, my mother replaced the straps in their original position, and this morning when she visited me we grabbed a piece of elastic I had laying around and used pins to try different things on both bras. All experiments were performed on the left side, which is my bigger side.

First up, we pulled the elastic under the band (not pinned there) then brought it to the front as a full strap, but more towards the center.
Here's how that looks on the front: https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/544081_559290230761613_840635593_n.jpg
And the back: https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/44438_559290184094951_313370365_n.jpg
Relatively close photo of the difference with this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/578026_559290200761616_1828251095_n.jpg
And a photo taken with more distance: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/576519_559290244094945_1611015690_n.jpg
Overall, this is quite a nice result, we think. But to add a complete extra strap… not sure.

Then, we went all Marlies Dekkers on the bra and came up with this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/486107_559290190761617_1967297090_n.jpg
Terrible. That's all I can say about it. Felt very restricting and not nice. So, off with it.

Last but certainly not least, we tried adding "half a strap" to the Stalowka.
Like this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/72393_559290257428277_1517957110_n.jpg
It would be an extra strap in the front, then join the original strap at the end of the non-adjustable part so it ends on the back in only 1 strap.
The top view looks like this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/480547_559290280761608_465174991_n.jpg
And here's how the bra looks with this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/482693_559290264094943_1312507773_n.jpg
CHECK THAT LIFT!!! Amazing! What a difference between the cups!!
So now the plan is that I'm going to visit the local shop and find some nice matching strap-material in black and grey. Elastic or stretchy material or non-stretchy material? Not sure yet.

What do you all think??

  • Tagging Nesoa, ohmyohmy, cellosubmarine, alisa so y'all don't miss this adventure :)

  • Yey, the suggestion I had actually worked! :) I would suggest trying to get something of a similar sort as the front of the strap. You would like to have a similar tension in it and similar behaviour to be able to treat the straps more like one...So, some slight stretch, just like the thicker part of the straps.

About the center gore sticking out... If you have pinched the gore at the bottom too much it will start standing out more, as you will shape the front of the bra for a very protruding chonical ribcage. The mm. you take the center gore in and it starts to stand out more, that's when you have taken it in too much...
