    Didn't fit

Seriously, with the Ewa Michalak shitstorm going on, I've decided to take my review down completely.

People, please stop using my pictures as an example of the English fitting method.
It is NOT. No one on this platform would deem this a good fit.

If anything, please see the fit request I set up for this bra:

    Didn't fit

    General comments:

I ordered this bra together with the HM Gold and the CH Onyx -- all in the same size 65E -- on October 2nd. The package arrived on October 5th, which really is exceptionally fast, in my opinion. Of the three bras I mentioned above, this one fits best. Considering the fact that I completely guessed my size I'm pleased to find that SOMETHING more or less fit, however, it goes to show that there is some size discrepancy between the different models. I will also review the other two bras.

    Bra description:

A sleek, black, matt satin bra with black, shiny satin binding along the cup edge. Two ... shiny, faceted, black buttons whimsically decorate the centre gore. the cups are lined with black cotton jersey. The lining contains pockets for the included sturdy foam 'cookies'. The bra comes with two kinds of detachable straps: regular 12mm wide straps and padded, 32mm (at their widest) wide comfort straps made out of the same matt satin the cups are made of and edged with shiny satin bias binding. The comfort straps are only partially adjustable.

    Fit:

I wasn't looking for a padded bra and even less for a plunge, so I was amazed to find that this bra fit me ALMOST perfectly. I was even more amazed at the shape it gave me: exactly the kind of shape I've always wished for -- lifted and round, the way my breasts are when I cup them with my hands. In fact, the bra is so comfortable and soft that it almost feels AS IF I'm cupping them with my hands. This bra gives me impressive cleavage without being tacky -- it's definitely the sexiest bra I've ever had, yet it's sleek, understated appearance makes it rather chic.

I find the cups fit better and more comfortably without the thick foam cookies in place, but they do indeed help to even out the asymmetry between my larger right and smaller left side. However, a slightly thinner pad would have been better, I think, as this one is almost overcompensating. Also, the pads don't help with the only fitting gripe I have with this bra: it fits perfectly when I'm standing up straight, but as soon as I reach ever so slightly forward the cups are gaping at the very top. I'm assuming this is because they're ever so slightly too big, yet when I pull my shoulders back I get definite quad-boob. Maybe the cups just come up too high where they meet the straps for my high-on-chest boobs? Furthermore, on my larger right side I'm also ALMOST spilling out at the side of the cup -- the sides simply don't seem to come up high enough on this bra -- and I don't think I can have narrower wires as this one really is only just wide enough. It's better when I 'scoop and jiggle' my breasts in place, but they don't really seem to want to stay that way -- I have wide-set breasts with a very wide base -- and they tend to move back to their original position.

The band on this 65E Plunge is nice and snug. Of the three bras I received it definitely is the snuggest. New out of the package it feels perfect for my 69cm underbust, but it is quite stretchy, so fingers crossed it won't stretch too much too soon. However, there are four hook positions to fasten it, so it shouldn't really be much of a problem.

The straps placement is very wide, although I somehow don't experience the problem of cutting into my arms the way other bras do. I have wide and straight shoulders, so they stay very well put, but I think that on someone with narrower shoulders they may slip.

    Conclusion:

This bra has the tightest band of the three bras mentioned above and is quite perfect for my 27"/69cm underbust. The cups fit very similar to the CH Onyx, but only as long as I don't move. They gap at the very top and I'm not sure whether that is due to a size or a shape issue. The underwires at the sides come up lower than in the other bras -- too low for me, I think, as my larger breast wants to spill out of the side of the cup despite it being the right size.

I'm torn whether to keep this marvel of a bra and accept the slight gaping, or return it and possibly exchange it for a smaller cup size. The problem is that I doubt my shape is entirely compatible with this otherwise glorious bra and that a smaller size won't solve the issues I have (and possibly make some of them worse). However, although of the three it is not my favourite, I do like this bra. Maybe I'll have another stab at it at another time.

    Edited To Add:
I've tried all the three bras on again this morning and for some reason MOST of the fitting issues I noted yesterday evening have disappeared. I think my breasts are fuller in the morning than in the evening (breastfeeding).

I'm still in serious doubt about keeping/exchanging the PL Onyks though. Standing up straight it fits BEAUTIFULLY, but moving my arms forward makes it gap at the top. The point where the straps meet the cups simply doesn't stay flush against my skin -- and I'm not sure whether this is due to a sizing issue or a matter of (incompatible) shape. I also get a bit of quad boob when I pull my shoulders back, which doesn't happen on the two other bras. The side spill issue seems to have disappeared almost completely though, so that may have had to do with the fluctuating firmness of my breasts throughout the day.

    Edited To Add II:
Argh, call me instable, but I have just decided to keep the Plunge -- tore off the tags and am wearing it right now. Fitted it a dozen times now and really, it's just perfect -- don't know what I was complaining about earlier. It's just so comfortable and although I've never been one for cleavage, I have to admit that it DOES look good https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />

    Didn't fit

This one is a multi-way bra with removable "push-up" pads and removable straps in plunge style.
The pads are also great to conceal asymetry of your breasts. But they are made from a thick foam, so for the lifting of breast is little bit too much, so im not using them now. The straps are two types: regular, and comfortable which are about 4 cm in the widest point. Ive found out, that the regular straps dont stay securely(somehow the hooks are maybe too small, so they may release), so im using the other ones (which also might have been shorter, they are not fully adjustable).
The bra ... is all covered in a black shiny microfibre, with two black buttons between the cups. Ive ordered 30GG, but probably i should have bought 30G. Compared to ewa michalak half-cups (HP Turkus 30G) plunges have bigger cups. It has also thicker padding than the half-cup i have. Even though i could have 30G probably, the boobs are very close together, for me maybe too much (it might cause discomfort in the summer). The cups look quite forward, the bridge is low, making deep neckline. The seem are visible under very thin tops.
This bra fits well, gives me great shape, but it looks too massive in the shiny black with those visible seems and specially with the comfortable straps. It gives me some kind of unnatural look. With the regular it looks better, but im not fully sure the hooks will stay secured.

  4. Wearing this bra feels like my boobs float on clouds. It's incredibly comfortable, especially if worn with the wider straps that come with it. I had feared that the wider straps would look unattractive, but I think they actually improve the neckline and make the whole bra look even better.

EM bras are the only ones that actually sit in the crease below my breasts, not half an inch or more below it. I'm seriously doubting ever buying a bra from another brand again.

The comfort straps are 4cm/1.5in wide at the widest point and lightly padded. They are not fully adjustable not only partly stretchy. The regular straps are ... 1.8cm/0.7in wide, stretchy throughout and fully adjustable. In addition, the bra also comes with a neckholder strap.

The satin edging and matte fabric look very luxurious and sexy. The shape it gives me is uplifted and rounded, without smooshing my boobs together.

The only negative thing is that the comfort straps tend to come undone from the hooks, but so far this has only happened while I put the bra on and I was able to fix it right away. They haven't come undone during the day at all.

  5. This is perhaps the best plunge I've had so far. It gives a shape that rivals Freya Deco and it's even more comfortable than Deco and Bravissimo Satine combined. It's very sturdy, the support is excellent and it looks very comtemporary and sharp. A topclass allrounder plunge, in other words.
It comes with detachable straps and while I found the comfort straps (which are truly wonderful to wear, mind you) a bit slippery on my shoulders, the halterneck piece is spot on. Full points to Ewa for them!

  6. My shape: I'm soft, low set, even to FOB, and have short narrow roots. I usually wear 30F unlined (deep) or 30FF lined, but can sometimes be between sizes even in padded bras.

The bra: This is a padded black plunge with cookie pockets and removable straps. I beleive the Onyx is a multiway, but I bought it pre-loved so just regular straps were sent and no cookies. The material is soft cotton throughout, and there are two small buttons on the center gore.

The shape: It has a nice uplifted look but still revealing with the low gore, showing off center cleavage instead of top of the breast cleavage. This is a nice change from everything else that I have (half cups and balconnettes). Ewa does it again! I wasn't expecting a plunge to fit that well, but I love it (and my husband commented that it looks great too, so that's a bonus!).

    • Looks fantastic!! Again, I'm jealous you can wear this. My breasts are just unusually close together at the base. Sigh.

    • Thanks Love4Pollinators ! The only complaint I have is that it does chafe my tail of spence a bit, but it's only bothersome after an entire day's wear, so not too much to complain about.

    • 1

I hope, over time, the tail of spence chafing will subside!

    • 1

      Looks great!
For me last Ewa's plunge I bought looked pointy :| so I think I need to stick to S or give another go to M

    • martka00 , I was worried about that too, but this one isn't too pointy. That may be because it's preloved though.

    • 1

Yeah possibly . But maybe I'll give another go if she'll release new collection

    Fits

I'm writing this review after wearing this bra from 5AM to 6PM. It was incredibly comfortable, with only a little bit of tenderness from the gore. For the first wear, at 12+ hours, not bad.

My breasts: Narrow, tall root, I fit a 30E in Freya, and 30F in most other bras. All bras have wires way too wide, including the Freyas. I'm guessing the Freyas are 0.5-1 inch too wide, and my Cleo Juna's wires go on forever it seems. I have quite a bit of immediate projection, which makes finding bras where the wires don't get pushed down out of my inframammary fold hard to find. ...

This bra comes with 3 sets of straps, the wide, cushy straps (partially adjustable; may be problematic for ladies with short torsos), a set of narrow, fully adjustable straps, and one longer strap to wear as a halter top dealio. I know that some women have had problems with Ewa's straps being set too far apart, and as you can see in the photos, I have no problems with this. I rather like the strap attaching lower on the side - I don't have much breast tissue on the outside, and this strap placement seems to gather it up and make it look good.

This bra was great for me, all around! The projection was perfect, the cups didn't get pushed down at all. And MIRACLES of miracles, the wires fit me! Well, my larger breast, and what more could a girl with slightly uneven breasts ask for? How about removable "push up" padding!? Shark week this week, and the bra fits perfectly without the pads, and next week, I can put them back in if need be, or in just the right side to correct my asymmetry. The pads, you can see in the photo, are a nice size, and discrete.

The seams in the bra show a little bit in my sheerest shirts, but I'd say they are less visible than my Freya Patsy or b.temp't Ciao Bella.

Here's my confession: I used the Ewa Michalak calculator, and ordered what it told me to. True story! And all 3 bras fit! I ordered 3 Ewa bras (PL Onyks, CH Onyks, and CHP Orchidea) at the same time, and they all fit like a charm. I'm guessing I'll have my "regular" bra size of 30F, my Freya bra size of 30E, and my Ewa bra size of 70DD.

This is by far my favorite bra, and my favorite out of the Ewas I have. Other than waiting for the shipment (oh, the need for immediate gratification!) my experience with Ewa was just fine. I will be ordering from them again, for sure!

Update: I've had this bra for 4 months now, and it's my most frequent flyer. Love love love this bra. Just had to move to the second set of hooks. Super comfortable still, and it looks just as lovely as it did on day 1 (hand wash, no dryer). Can't rave enough about this bra!

  8. This is one of the more expensive Ewa Michalak bras, but now that I have received it, I believe it is worth the cost!

This bra comes with two sets of straps. (Note -- the measurement for straps is with the wide comfort straps, not the second set of straps, which measures a typical .75" wide) The comfort straps are wide and padded, and the name just about describes them. Wow! I have issues with straps simply because I am petite, but these straps feel so wonderful and firmly placed. They don't feel as if they will slide around. The second set of straps are typical black bra straps, ... nothing particularly interesting to note about them. It is nice to have them, though, to change the straps for a top that can't really accommodate the hefty width of the comfort straps.

The bra itself is black cotton with a shiny satin black fabric lining the edges of the cups. It is a good basic black bra, in my opinion, in terms of appearance. There are two black buttons sewn at the gore in a very freya hatty-esque fashion. I'm not crazy about the buttons, but I feel that this makes it an especially great style for women who are not "girly girls" and are not such a fan of all the lace and flowers and bows that are so rampant in the lingerie world. The material itself is SUPER soft. No scratchiness here!

The band is incredibly firm. For those wondering if Ewa Michalak bands run firm, I will say yes. I measure 26.5" underbust super tight, 27.25" snug, and this band is very snug on me. I am considering getting an extender just to increase it by one column of hooks for a little bit. However, this IS a black bra, and the dyes in black bras have been known to cause bands to stay pretty firm, so keep this in mind. I would personally not have been able to even do up a 26 band!

Unlike the PL Milady, which I got in the same order as this bra, the wires are not particularly too wide. They seem rather similar to my PL Cielus in a 60G with maybe a teeny bit extra room on the sides. There is not enough volume displaced at the edges of the cup to cause any sort of fit issue at all.

The bra fits me pretty perfectly. I took out the asymmetry pads as I do not have any asymmetry that I have ever noticed, but they do help give a very "boobs in face" cleavage look if I put them in. I do want to mention I normally wear a 28G in pretty much every other brand, and I feel that, in my experience, EM PL bras run about a cup size small. I have now tried 3 PLs, all of which I would have needed the 60GG versus a 60G. Keep this in mind!
