I'm really disappointed in this one. figleaves claimed it's a push-up, and there's only light padding lining the inside. The underwires angle inward and dig painfully into my sternum, and the cups are too big. It's so cute though; I was excited for it :c

This bra is excruciatingly painful on both sides of the wires. It's too narrow for me, and the GORE??? What is up with the gore being so tall in a 28E.. It should be maybe 1.7 inches max.
It's really pretty though https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I'll just need to alter it immensely.

OMG, major major poking in the sternum. It's got nothing to do with the height of the gore - it seems to be the angle of the wires, somehow. The wires even seem a bit tight on the sides under my arms (though they stop short of poking there). This is a problem that other members of Bratabase have mentioned, though none of the 3 or 4 blog reviews on this bra have mentioned it.

I tried Venusian Glow's method of fixing poking underwires (http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/08/fixing-underwires-that-hurt-sternum-by.html), and it has worked, kind of - though the wires under my arms then went from 'some ... pressure' to 'borderline painful'.

Cups do have very little volume in the bottom, which gave my breasts a bit of a lift, though hardly 'Marie Antoinette' cleavage - probably because I don't have much to begin with. Also slight gaping in the top of the cups, even on the larger breast.

I like the colour (cherry blush), the lace detailing and the lowercut balconette/halfcup style (i.e, unlike many Panache and Cleo bras that have wrinkling along the lace-fabric seam).

Perhaps this Curvy Kates just do not work for us less busty ladies? Another Bratabase member, Avi_, mentioned here: http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhppt/ that a lot of women in sizes 28D/28DD/28E have problems with this bra, and in her review of this bra in a 28D, she also mentions poking in the sternum and under her arms. Jillie, on the other hand, said in her review of this bra that she'd gone DOWN a cup size (28E to 28DD), and all the gaping and poking problems went away!

I decided to return this bra for a number of reasons, not least of which was the POKING!, but also the fact that the rest of the bra was just ... meh. I mean, nice colour and lace detailing, but no cleavage, lace might show through my shirts and tops, poking!, very slight gaping in the top of the cups - all these little niggles, taken on their own, would be manageable, but all together added up to a bra I felt wasn't worth keeping.

[Ordered a cup size down (28DD) - no poking in sternum though wires do still dig somewhat on the sides, better cleavage, no gaping in the cups. Am returning this, though - I cannot justify keeping this on the basis of "I like how it looks", when I don't like how it feels. Granted, it is very likely that the fit will improve (get more comfortable) after a few wears, but lace shows slightly under clothing and I just think I'll be better off getting bras for everyday wear..]

I'm looking for 'Marie Antoinette' cleavage. Any suggestions for a bra?

    • Nooo, sorry! Had no luck with CK Tease Me in either 28DD or 28E, and none of the other bras I've tried come anywhere close for cleavage, even the ones that fit.

Overall, it's a great bra, the only issue is of spillage.
This bra was one of the first bras I got since I found my actual measurements and stopped wearing 32D. Even though I measured a 28F I assumed I'd fit a 28E as it was the sister size of the wrong size I'd been wearing for ages. I know I'm an idiot. So yeh, the issue is only because I didn't heed the reviews and size up or atleast get my actual size. The lacey fabric goes upto about an inch or so above the actual cup and my nipples are sitting at the top of the cup. It's too late to return so I'll wear it now and then, and hopefully make up for it by buying the 28F and FF in the current purple one.

Also, a lot of people complain about the center gore poking, it does poke a bit throughout the day but I don't find it all that uncomfortable.

This is the most beautiful balcony bra I've come across.

Bras with fabric cups rarely fit me on top, so I decided to try one with open-on-top cups. It works OK but not great. My breasts are too bottom-heavy for it and I have a slight gap on top. A smaller size might be better for me.

The band is fairly firm. It stretches, but takes a bit of effort to stretch it, so it feels a bit tight on the body.

Well it fits, sort of. I ordered this because I thought it might be a more practical bra than the thrill me, but the lace on the top of the cups still shows through most things so I would only be able to wear it under thicker clothes.

I also feel like maybe I could go up in the cups, I know it's meant to be a cleavagey sort of bra but the tops of my areolas are peeking out at the top of the cups, but there's no noticeable quadding so I really can't see myself filling the cups on the next size up. The underwires are also poking in the center and I can't see a solution for this other than to bend the underwires out a bit. I reckon this one is just not right for me so I'm thinking I will just return it without bothering to try the next size up.

I'm so torn. It fits well, and looks good on it's own, but due to the cups being rather tall, wide, and narrow, under tops it makes me look a bit flat and square... not a good look. Also, the center gore is at an angle, which causes the top of the gore to dig in to my sternum, while the bottom of the gore pulls away slightly (it looks flat, but I can easily fit a finger under it). Is there a way to bend it so that it doesn't do that? I haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep it as a bedroom bra or just send it back, but I'm leaning towards sending it back, sadly, mostly because of the center gore issue.

    • Have you tried a larger cup? Some women find that Curvy Kate bras can give a square-ish shape if they are too small.

    • I haven't, but that's good to know. I think I will try a larger size. Thank you!

    • I bended the wires and it helped. I had exactly the same problem than you, wires digging in in the sternum.
When I increased cup size and tried 30E instead of 30EE, the pain from the wires was not so bad, but it still was there. CK wires are odd!! Never had that problem in any other bra.

    • Oops, I meant 30DD in the previous post, not 30EE!!

Fits well, but after all-day wearing the central part of the wire press into the chest and the wire on the outer part is not long enough, so it is necessary to rearrange breasts in the bra sometimes. Its good looking bra, but not for everyday use, because it causes pressure mark on the center of the chest. Not suitable for physical activity at all https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
