Measurements for Panache Cleo Sadie in size 28FF:

    Stretched Band - 28.5"
    Band Length - 23"
    Cup Width - 6"
    Cup Depth - 9.25"
    Wire Length - 9.375"
    Cup Seperation - .75"
    Strap Width - .625" (5/8" for fractions) - Elastic width on strap - .5625" (9/16" for fractions)

    Purchased from BareNecessities.com 10/2011

I read reviews and had purchased this bra on HerRoom.com but they cancelled my order (backordered but then they changed the stock to discontinued), so I was able to find it on BareNecessities. But the reviews I've read for this bra on HerRoom and on here indicate it ran small in the cup, which makes sense because I think most ... of Panache's bras do, so I ordered a cup size up from my usual and it fits perfect!! I was almost regretting it so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping, but I'm so glad I stuck with my first choice! And for a cup depth of only 9.25" this is a measurement you would normally see on a size 28F (DDDD/ and a US-G). I now know what size to order in this brand =)

    Pros:

-T-shirt bra, so a hell of a lot more functional than other bras from this brand and other European brands, the foam is not thick enough to add size, but enough to be modest.
-Vertical seams help create a more American-style, rounded silhouette (if they had been your traditional 3 seams this would give a pointed shape, even with a foam cup), and it also helps to direct you front and center.
-Wicked cute fabric and details!! The lace at the top of the cup is not stretchy but it is the correct size for the remainder of the bra (finally!)
-Lining on inside of cup is cotton, much more comfortable than comparable brands.

    Cons:

-Center gore in front sticks out a little bit, but this is because it's more for women who have a bigger stomach as it's curved up quite a bit (mine is pretty flat, tapering to 24" so there is a little shadowing/space under this area). Not really a problem, but some might consider it as the band being too big, it's not. Panache either makes partial banded bras or full bands for "thicker" frames. =/
-Straps don't adjust short enough (I did not put this down as a fit problem because for now it's fine, though I will probably have to alter the straps in the future).
-A few unfinished/raw edges inside the bra, and some sticking out on the cup. Quality could be a little bit more impressive considering the cost.
-I can close this on the middle hooks already as a brand new bra, so this doesn't run quite as small in the band as some other styles from Panache. Not a problem for me, but on others it may be.

    *Update 10-2012*

This fit before but had some problems when it came to the shape. Before the seams in the cup would point to the sides at the bottom and to the center at the top, kind of like a forward slash, backward slash. I added a dart in the center gore, which took out about 1.125" from the band length so it's more snug, and now the seams in the cup are straight up and down. It gives better lift and support from the bottom of the cup, whereas before it would kind of just pull you down to the sides.

    Fits

Gorgeous bra. Seamed but smooth, structured but not thick. The lace at the top of the cups might stick up if you don't fill the cup completely; I need to "lift and drop"to fill this bra out properly so the lace rests on my skin. The lace is smooth, though, and if the bra's filled in properly it doesn't bunch or stick out, so it's fancy-looking but layers smoothly under clothing. I appreciate that.

Note, at the center of the bra I had to bend the top 2" of the underwire a few degrees away from my sternum. Before I did this, the underwires dug into my sternum and left raw red marks. Since the adjustment however I've had no complaints.

For being thin coordinating print straps, the straps are quite strong and nonstretchy. Not a bra for physical activity but great for everyday, walking and office wear.

Not for wideset breasts—the underwires touch in the middle.

Gorgeous violet tartan print. Only gripe about the cups: the molded cup is a bit smaller/lower than my other Panache/Masquerade/Harlequin/Cleo molded bras and so there's ever so slight double-boob effect on my bigger breast. (I've sized for the larger and tightened the straps for the smaller breast). My boobs are very soft so my conclusion is this style isn't built for them but instead a firmer bust. The lace trimming atop the cups doesn't hide the tiny bit of spillage. If I could go one size up from this G to GG or even an H I would. :-/

Purchased & Returned early-March 2011 from Barenecessities. Just couldn't justify it.

    • I know it's hard to tell because you wear a different size than I do, but I'm trying to decide between the 28DD and 28E cup size in this bra. I currently have a Marie Jo Avero bra in 30D and it fits me well, but I want to try a 28" band. Based on how this bra fits you, can you suggest whether I should consider the DD or an E?

    • I so want to answer your question properly! First I want you to size yourself at home based on this method: http://breakoutbras.stores.yahoo.net/noname1.html*

*Remember to EXHALE when you take the underbust measurement, they don't state it there but I think it can help differentiate between two band size possibilities, should you be between two like you say you think you might be!

Please tell me what size you get and I will happily make a suggestion afterward. :)

    • Wow! Thanks so much for offering to help. If I exhale completely, my underbust measurement is 26" My bust measurement is 33 measured loosely.

Based on this, I get 30C (3" difference) and 28DD(E) (5" difference) and for grins and giggles, 26G (7" difference) - my understanding once you go down to a 26 band size you're pretty much out of luck with a lot of manufacturers.

So if that is correct, the 30D that fits me well should be too large in the cups, but it is not. (My bust measures 32.5 while wearing that bra)

I hope this is helpful - I'm really curious what you think.

    • Shell, Sounds like you're def 28 band if not smaller. Since I'm not familiar with Marie Jo I'm going to base my advice on your measurements and my experience with this bra. My shape made it hard to consider this style (even though I am totally in love with the style). If monetarily possible (since you're btw sizes) I'd say order both sizes and plan on returning the ill-fit one. If not feasible take a look at how it fits a mannequin on HerRoom (http://www.herroom.com/Panache-5891-Cleo-Sadie-Bra.shtml) They have a measuring system which is SO helpful! Unfortunately, they don't carry everything.. if only! ;) Look at the 4th image from above the center-line. There is about 2" of balcony cup there, but only about 1.5" is actual cup, the other .5" is just lace. If you feel you can fit in there I would say go with DD. If you're concerned, go with E. Have you tried on any Freya/Fantasie? I am FF in those brands but G in Panache/Cleo/Harlequin/Masquerade brands. Hope this helps and Good luck!!! :)

Yay, this one fits! My breasts are not exactly the same size and it's noticeable to me that there is some slight puckering near the strap on the smaller one. The straps seem to be set very wide, I find that the puckering is less when the strap is worn closer to my shoulder. Tightening the strap just makes the puckering worse. It's mostly lace there and I don't think it's significant enough to be visible under a shirt. Band feels great, I'm glad I tried a 28, and the straps are very smooth and not too thin. Overall it's a keeper but I would not recommend this bra to someone whose breasts are not somewhat close to the same size. Should also mention that the cups tend to run small - I ordered the 28DD and 28E and found that both were too small - but my only reference is a 30D bra that fits in another brand.

Love the look of this bra, it's certainly the sexiest one I own.

    • So glad you found the right size, Shell! I only wish I could have gone up a cup size too but it's not made. :( I'm glad the verdict on cups running small is not just me. I have found trying on a few of the different Panache brands some styles run smaller than others. I had to return my Sadie. Enjoy her!

Unsure whether to say all Panache bras run slightly smaller than others. Personally, I think it's more TTS in general. I'm curious of your opinion even after just *trying on* a few more brands. :)

Considering the fact that this bra is pre-owned I feel like the fit would've been somewhat better, although, considering the fact that this is the closest that I've gotten to my actual bra size thus far I feel it's just a matter of bra style now. Unlike past bras that I've owned this one does not climb all the way up into my arm pits or dig into my sternum which were problems that I experienced with Curvy Kate (more than likely due to wearing the wrong size) and Parfait by Affiniates (34G) which felt as if the gore was going to puncture me at any moment and ... after altering it and getting the bra wires under my boobs I found that the cups were too small ((don't the cups run smaller in this style))?? Problems that I /did/ experience were the usual inability to fill the bottoms of the cups completely while filling out the top entirely which shouldn't be too huge of a problem as it isn't noticeable under shirts, I did take in the lace though as it had a bit of excess fabric, probably due to previous wear. Another problem that I've been experiencing is that over time, my boobs will gradually try and make a break for it by slipping out from behind the underwire but I'm sure that as soon as I figure out why this is happening I'll be able to do an alteration to fix this issue. At first I was a bit reluctant about getting this bra because the straps only adjust halfway and I'm petite ((5'1)) with a narrow frame but to my surprise they haven't slipped once which is also a common issue that I experience. When it arrived in the mail the cups were a bit wrinkled due to the fact that they weren't padded in with paper but now that I'm gradually starting to break it's spirit they're straightening out. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I feel pretty confident in saying that I can literally feel the difference in wearing a bra that's 98% close to fitting over a bra that doesn't fit at all, whereas I feel little to no support in my others bras it feels as if I'm getting a firm, yet comforting and supporting hug from a friend (AKA this bra holy Jesus) and my shoulders and back are thanking me for it 😂. Overall I wpuld reccomend buying the Cleo Sadie if you have a similar breast shape, if it wasn't discontinued.

    Didn't fit

***Please note: For all intent and purpose this bra fits but I will keep the accurate "band is too tight" until it stretches out.

Second edition AW11 fashion color "Orange Plaid" version.

    Band length: 57.9cm
    Cup width: 15.0cm
    Cup depth: 29.0cm
    Wire length: 32.1cm
    Cup separation: 2.1cm
    Strap width: 1.9cm

    Quality: 5/5
Comfort: */5 (will be updated after first full day's wear, with photos)
    Appearance: 5/5

So pleased to say that the fit is the same between AW11's Sadie and SS12's Rihanna even though I bought the newer one first. See Rihanna 28h review here: (http://bra.pe/ReC/).

As usual with padded or even lightly-lined bras I am a size larger in the cups. Whereas my typical size measures a ... 30g I'm then about a 30gg. I find most Cleo's a bit stretchier in the band so I find the equivalent in a 28h, the smaller "sister size". It's quite surprisingly to be once again at the end of a size range. It's difficult to hold my tongue and instead refrain from insisting a friend with a larger bust try it when I realize that it is basically would size her out. Instead, I like to focus on the fact that sharing the information with loads of other women about how the sizing runs may save some from the trouble of many exchange orders had they not known otherwise.

Just as with the Rihanna we have another great rounded shape, good lift, and firm back size. I will be wearing with an extender for a while so it's more comfy until the band stretches just a bit.

    Measured immediately before wearing.
    Purchased late-July 2012.

    32G

    Didn't fit

Ordered this because I know to size up a cup from my 30G in Fantasie/Freya when going to Panache/Cleo/Harlequin, and they don't do GG cups in Cleo/Harlequin. Figured if it fit decently on the tightest hook I'd take it to my seamstress to take in the wings, because I just loved the print.

Unfortunately, there's absolutely no way for me to make this fit. The straps seem to want to be a good 2 inches farther to either side than my shoulders. When I drag them up onto my shoulders, the cup gets very odd, with spillage although there's no quad-boob effect. When I hold them out to the ... sides, where the line of the strap and cup naturally falls, the top edge of the padded segment cuts in a bit, while the lace can't be filled completely (most likely the latter is due to the fact that my breasts fail to continue out to the strap, i.e. past my body). The wires come up into my armpits more than I'd like, and I think they would chafe a bit if I could actually wear it.

Although the print is cute, it's just that: a print, and the fabric seems very thin and cheap. Whatever they used for it, it's a single layer in the back/wings, and I feel like it wouldn't be very supportive, and you could easily go down a band size if you wanted to own this. For me, this would mean I'd need a 28H (with any luck, the straps wouldn't be falling off my shoulders then), but although it does go down to a 28 band, it only goes up to a G cup.

    Returning this one.

Gorgeous bra, but cups run really small. I'm 30D in another brand and expected to fit in a 28DD or 28E. Returning both and ordering a 28F. This one fit my smaller breast ok, but created a bulge in my slightly larger breast. Sizing up a cup size should fit well.

I love the shape of this bra, although my band is too big, the cups fit fine maybe a tad small. I'm wanting to try the 36G but I'm nervous that the cups will be too big. The quality seems great and it's lasted me a long time. (about 3 years now) Love the purple plaid color too. You can see the seams through a t shirt though.
