Didn't fit

My shape: mid-height, forward-facing, very close-set, super side-full teardrop (ski-jump with no jump, just a straight slope) with tall full-but-shallow upper roots, even vertical fullness, wide side roots, lots of immediate projection but average-to-small overall projection, and allover very firm tissue that doesn't easily take other shapes.

This review is for the adorable houndstooth colorway. It is navy and white, not black and white as I first thought, and while I do like it anyway, the surprise combined with the transparent nature of the fabric (which changes the apparent color when wearing it) makes me like it less. Still cute, though! It only has the one organza bow at the center front, and I like the simplicity.

To start, the 30 band on the loosest hooks was great, and today I measure a snug 72/BTT 66.5 cm. I tried it on upside down and backwards just to make sure because I need 28s in Freya and most of the Panache and Cleo I've had.

The wires are pretty wide and hug most of my fullness well. The ever-troublesome shallow root tissue that starts at the front of my armpit and extends back to my shoulder blades in a flat curve (like the Nike swoosh) is disguised underneath the very tall wings, which might easily be too tall for some ladies, but which I like and had no trouble with.

I don't think the Jasmine and I are going to work out shape-wise, though. For one, the cups have more overall projection than I need and the apex, which on these is right at the T seam with the lace, is way too tall for me. The immediate projection is great though - I felt supported and no wrinkles from too much, and no buckling or riding down from too little. The lace panel closes too quickly for me, which means that the bra anticipates a much shorter root and a more projected shape on top than I have. Some of this might be solved by sizing down to a 30F, or more likely a 30E, but then I'd lose my wire width in the bargain, and I think then the top edge of the lace panel would actually press in and cause some dramatic quad-boob.

The center bridge/gore was probably the narrowest I've had from a cup this tall in a long while, but since I suspect I have a hint of natural symmastia, I think anything short of overlapping the wires will be a problem no matter what I try. The shape of the bridge is pretty close to my IMF in the center, which is usually not quite the same as the standard U-curve. It's extremely tall, though, and that is the other part of the issue: it's a full 2 cm higher than I usually tolerate, and at least 3 more than where comfort would actually dictate. The wires are pretty firm, too, and together that makes this a deal breaker, even apart from the other issues.

The straps are narrow, which will be an issue for some ladies, but since my boobs are mostly self-supporting it doesn't bother me. They are quite far apart, though, about as bad as my 28G - Freya » Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223) clones, and I can see them chafing a bit on a hot day.

Too tall for me! And, like most balconettes, too closed on top

Center gore comfort:
Underwires dig into sternum, because they are too high
Strap separation:
Are too far apart
Top of the cup:
Wrinkles, can't quite fill it
Cups separation:
Too separate for my boobs

This bra didn't fit her, but these did
