Support and projected shape in bras

Recently I thought about this. Usually almost everyone dislikes "wide" bras and prefer the front projected shape. Actually I kinda do too, just speaking shape-wise. But I'm also not into too much projection, since fitting into clothes gets even trickier.

I realized thought that I'm more comfortable in less projected bras and get better support. I never got along with any EM bra. Panache Jasmine and I were a mismatch, so was Cleo Marcie (back when I fitted into the size range).

In the past I liked Panache Andorra, Ariza and Tango. Liked Elomi Caitlyn besides a few issues. Also Sculptresse range was somewhat manageable (although now the bras are too shallow for me).
Recently I wore the Floris and the Boudoir Beau which have both imo more projected cups than Bravissimo Alana, and I found them to be less supportive! I even got neck pain! the straps were digging into my shoulders painfully. I felt better supported in Alana.

Did anyone notice getting less support in more projected bras too? Do you prefer a projected shape or not?

  • Well, you know I love Floris and its massive projection. I have never had back pain from my boobs, not even being braless or living in old, worn-out decent exposure bras.

I do feel like the bras that hold my boobs in closer to the body also tend to hold them more firmly - if they arent super-low cut. Except of course that EM S, which is a very firm cup with no top to it - so my boobs arent going anywhere except a little up-bubble.

Overall, I prefer the projected shape because it camouflages my belly. Also, I mostly wear higher-necked t-shirts, and in the winter, turtlenecks and sweaters - NOT low-cut. So when I DO wear low-cut shirts, I see that lower-cut bras give a better look, and the lower cup shirts give me a nice shape - but for the high-cut shirts, the more projected shape is more flattering. and i dont want to show my boobs. I'm just way too old and living in too conservative an area and want to go back to work soon - I've been experimenting but overall, no, cleavage is not where its at for me, projected shape works better

  • Ah I love my Floris too. I mean, I fit into 34K. No sizing up to 36K and dealing with too big bands!
Also I find Floris to be much supportive than Jasmine even though both have very projected cups.

Wider bras make me look more hourglassy from the front. While projected bras do make my waist appear smaller from the side.

Ahh sometimes I just wish for a magical bra that takes ALL weight from my shoulders! Sometimes even the supposed 20% of the boob weight your shoulders carry in a proper fitted bra is too much for me. Or maybe its more than 20% in larger cup sizes? :(
